Nest, nidus (der Vögel und einiger vierfüßigen Tiere [wie der Maus etc.]: ein kleines N., nidus parvulus; nidulus). – nodus (Haarnest. s. Haarwulst). – zu N. tragen, congerere: ein N. bauen (einbauen, sich einnisten, horsten, nisten), nidum facere od. fingere od. confingere; nidificare. nidulari (nisten); auf die Erde, nidum ponere in terra: unter das Dach, nidum suspendere tecto. – ein N. ausnehmen, implumes aves detrahere nido (die jungen Vögel darin); ova incubanti avi subducere (die Eier, auf denen die Henne brütet): das N. hüten, nidum servare (bei Hor. ep. 1, 10, 6 auch scherzh. = das Haus hüten, wenn die andern ausgegangen sind).
